<blurb>(Today's post)

So it's that time of the month again when we re-issue an old design back from retirement to give you all a second shot at grabbing it! As most of you remember, we asked you to vote for your favorite designs to bring back; Maverick won the top votes, and Farsighted was a close second, so now it's the sunglasses' turn to come back and bask in its spotlight for the next couple of days! So please, help us spread the word, and enjoy this re-issue for the time being! Love you all!

(Original post)

I've always complained to close friends of mine that since my brain feels like it is constantly sprinting at a million miles an hour through thoughts, I am more often than not exhausted by my scatterbrained-ness. One of the very few upsides of it, however, is how God uses it to gather my inspiration from an eclectic range of sources; with so many loose thoughts competing for my attention, He's able to connect the dots for me and in turn allow me to create something out of the mess. This is one of those times.

"Farsighted" is inspired by an unusual conversation I recently had with a new friend; by "unusual" I mean divinely conspired, "recently" I mean 5 hours before this post went up, and "new friend" I mean a JesusBranded supporter who I randomly messaged on Facebook. In full-blown deadline denial with still a blank sketchbook by 9PM, I was abating my stress by randomly bouncing ideas regarding Christianity back and forth with my aforementioned friend; the moment of inspiration came when she used the phrase "eternity is my heartsong", and immediately I was reminded of a very awesome (and super old) song by Five Iron Frenzy called "Farsighted": "To all the farsighted, the skies have never been so clear... and you know in your heart that the farsighted see better things." I quickly sketched out a pair of sunglasses with the word "eternity" in it but had no idea where to go from there; I looked over at my bible and realized that at my friend's earlier suggestion of a possible design idea, I had left it open at Psalm 27:4. At this point, I began to furiously scribble that scripture down, and mashed it with an excerpt from Ecclesiastes 3:11 to finally grasp what it was that I wanted to say: "The one thing I ask, the one thing I seek: To gaze upon your beauty all the days of my life, for you've set eternity in this heart of mine [and even though I don't fully understand the beginnings and the ends of it, my heart still] says of you 'Seek His face! So that, Lord, I will seek.'"
Divine intervention: Amen. Procrastination: Never on purpose again.
